Have you ever gone to a movie
Not knowing what to expect
I read the synopsis
But it was so not what I thought
I wanted to watch an unlikely love story
Connecting against all odds
Falling in love in an unlikely place
A story of perseverance
Growth
Resilience
Of seeing and being seen
Instead I saw a devolution
A chaotic, vengeful mess
Lord-of-the-flies-esque mania
A thirst for power
At the expense of everyone else
I didn’t hate it
I saw what the filmmakers were trying to do
I just don’t feel like it all worked
Next time I think I’ll just help myself by seeing a different movie
