Day 153: “Inspirational Incantation”
There’s no impossible
When you’re dreaming
Day 153: “Inspirational Incantation”
There’s no impossible
When you’re dreaming
Day 141: “Ginger Ale”
The mountains, the porch swing
The breeze as the sky gets dark
You come, scratch my back
Sit next to me
We look at the stars starting to become visible in the sky
We sit in silence
Admiring the beauty
The closeness
After a while, it’s cold enough that we go inside
Surprising for Arizona
You ask if you can get me anything
I think of all the treats and treasures here
Peanut M&Ms
Rice Krispies
Icebreakers
But I say, “Ginger ale, please”
You go to the other fridge
The one by the garage
And come back with two in hand
We sit on the couch, drinking ginger ale
and watching Shirley Temple
You scratch my back
Day 140: “Authenticity”
Authenticity makes you the coolest person alive
If you’re authentically you, there can be no one else like you
You’re cool
Effortless
Unapologetic
I get inspired
By authentic people
It makes me
Want to be authentically me too
Day 124: “Inspiration”
To feel inspired is to feel loved
By an idea
A spark
A feeling
Inspiration strikes
Catches
Blazes on
Offering light
And warmth
As you create
Day 100: “100”
Today I hit a milestone
I’ve been reaching for
100 days of poems
Not consecutively, but that wasn’t my goal
My goal was to not get stuck in the black and white
The 0 to 100
The writing out of obligation
I wanted to write when I felt inspired
When I wanted to
Not because I had to to meet a quota
In that time
Those 100 days
I’m at a place now where I want to try to write daily
Not obligated to
But I want to try new things
I want to write about feelings
And situations
And songs
And movies
And my passions
It’s fun
I feel proud
Brave
Strong
Aligned
Loud
Excited
Cheers to 100 poems
And whatever the future holds
Day 98: “Painting”
Sometimes I think I could be a painter
I like to wet my brush
And see what I can create
I always start from something else
Usually an Albert Marquet painting
I like the nature
Mixed with European architecture
I see how well I can mimic
I take creative liberties
Usually on the colors
And dumbing down the design a bit
To something more in my wheelhouse
I have a lot of fun
And am almost always proud of the finished product
Even if my paintings look best when you’re standing far away
Day 47: “Inspiration”
I look out the window
See the sun shining through the clouds
I listen to new music
On repeat
I watch a classic romcom
And feel nostalgia flooding me
I lay down
After a busy day
I move my muscles
And stretch
I take the bus
And sit on a worn, weathered seat
I pet my cat
And cuddle up to her
I talk with my loved ones
And give tight hugs
I cook
Paint
Clean
I see beauty all around
I’m inspired
